Brenda Reid was born in Regina Saskatchewan then moved to Edmonton in her mid teens. After high school she attended Grant MacEwen Community college where she studied in Fine Arts. Through the years Brenda has dabbled in all kinds of mixed media such as water colours, pencil crayons, oil, sculpting and acrylics. Brenda’s love of art and looking at the world with an artistic eye gives her great joy when she finds herself in her quiet little place she calls her art studio; that’s where you will find her mixing and pouring paint to create artistic pieces. Brenda usually depicts realism but has ventured into some abstract pieces. In the last two years she has been exploring the art of carving soap stone.
Paint Day at St. Helen’s was a fabulous success. 40 would-be artists learned how to paint the Aurora
Borealis from St. Helen’s most prodigious Art Fair painter, Brenda Reid.
