St. Helen’s Art Fair Rules for Artists

  1. Exhibitors should be an artist active in the Orleans or east Ottawa areas or a member of St. Helens Parish.
  2. All works must be original in content and not a copy.
  3. Subject matter must be suitable for viewing in a church environment, by the general public, including children. St. Helen’s Art Fair organizers reserve the right to refuse works that are inappropriate because of subject matter.
  4. All entries must be ready for display in the purchaser’s home. For works intended for table or mantle display this means the art work must have a base or other substantial means of supporting the piece.
  5. All artworks must be identified with the name of the artist, the title and the price.
  6. There will be a $5 entry fee for each piece of art submitted.
  7. A surcharge will be added should you indicate that you would like St. Helen’s to provide display grids:
    1. $12 for 8 linear feet of display grid; or
    2. $14 for 12 linear feet of display grid.
  8. All sales will be payable to St. Helen’s Church. St. Helen’s will retain a 20% commission on each sale. A cheque for the balance will be mailed to each artist. Artists may donate a larger percentage of their sales to St. Helen’s if they wish.
  9. Works must be for sale and sold as entered. The Church may use images of your artwork submitted for the exhibition for promotional purposes. The use of such will not be subject to copyright or other legislation.
  10. Additional art work may be submitted until the closing date.
  11. Artists wishing their titles to appear in both languages must provide both titles on the application form and do their own translation.
  12. There will be no jurying. Submitted artwork will be accepted providing it complies with all other rules.
  13. St. Helen’s will take reasonable precautions for the security of works between delivery to the church and pickup by the buyer. The exhibitor is strongly urged to cover his/her artwork against risks of loss or damage by obtaining proper insurance.
