I have been a painter in oils for over 20 years and enjoy painting a wide variety of subjects, from traditional to fantasy and abstract. My art is expressed in two distinct styles: a loose, painterly style that I use to quickly capture landscapes when painting on location, and a more controlled, detailed style that I use when working in my studio. Both styles are true to me and how I envision the world around me.
I have studied extensively with other artists as well as through courses offered at the former Visual Arts Centre of Orleans , Bridgewater Retreat, and Loyalist College. My work includes commissions and artworks for private collections and for the Government of Canada. My painting won first place at the 2018 Ottawa Orchid Society’s Art Show
Paint Day at St. Helen’s was a fabulous success. 40 would-be artists learned how to paint the Aurora
Borealis from St. Helen’s most prodigious Art Fair painter, Brenda Reid.
