Joanne Lacroix is a self-taught pyrography (creative wood burning) artist whose pieces are influenced by her love of nature.
Various types of wood are used for her artistic work which can be displayed as wall art, signage, tabletop art or on mini easels.
Her work has been featured in an art gallery in Cumberland, homes and businesses throughout Canada and the United States and her artistry has also been used to illustrate a series of children’s books.
Joanne enjoys working with various types of media in her creative endeavours and has discovered the joy of creating fused glass pieces. Among her pieces are wall hangings, panels for display on horizontal surfaces as well as other home décor accents such as soap dishes and trays.
She uses a fluid approach that provides an impressionistic interpretation, highlighting various transformations of light through the glass medium. It’s always a nice surprise to see what comes out of the kiln after a glass fusing session.
Paint Day at St. Helen’s was a fabulous success. 40 would-be artists learned how to paint the Aurora
Borealis from St. Helen’s most prodigious Art Fair painter, Brenda Reid.
